1. Keep your format simple:

Keeping your resume format simple and clean makes it easier for the employer to read. Use a basic font such at Arial and keep the font size between 10 and 12.

2. List out your contact information:

Always include your full name, phone number and personal email address at the top of your resume.

3. Be sure your work experience is up to date:

Above all else be sure that your work experience is always accurate. Employers use this information to learn your skill level and to find out if you have any relevant experience. Include month and year of employment history at minimum.

4. List out your education:

Just like your work experience, make sure your education is accurate. List your education after work experience.

5. Use reverse chronological order:

When listing your work experience and education be sure to use reverse chronological order. Meaning your most recent work experience or education is listed first.

6. Keep it professional:

While writing out your resume use professional language, this will help you stand out among others.

7. Always do a thorough spell and grammar check:

This a great way to show off your soft skills which employers look for to see how detail-orientated you are. Having a resume free of spelling and grammar errors shows that you care about the work you do.
