Please take 2 seconds right now to take action and stay informed on the proposed changes to Medicaid. The next few days will be critical to the future of Medicaid.

Last week the Senate released its draft of health care reform legislation. In short, intelligence that ANCOR (our national association) has gathered over the last few weeks notes the Senate’s proposed bill would decimate community services for people with disabilities through extreme cuts to Medicaid.  Now is the time to let our Senators know how you feel about the bill before they vote in a few short days!

Here’s what you can do:

1. First, click HERE to share your thoughts with Senator Ernst on the proposed bill – it takes 2 seconds why not do so right now....Senator Ernst put the poll together to get your thoughts on whether or not you support the legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
2. Next, follow up with calls and/or emails to both Iowa Senators. Click here for easy talking points and contact information.  
3. Then, stay informed. ANCOR (our national association) is posting regular updates to www.disabilitysos.org. Medicaid is essential in making sure that people with disabilities can live in society and outside of segregated, state-run institutions.  Without funding and supports, community integration as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act and affirmed by the Olmstead Supreme Court decision is a broken promise.
